Default Crayons?

Have you introduced any crayons or markers? A couple of weeks ago our cat must have knocked my shopping notebook and pen off the table. Ellamae found it and scribbled all over about 3 pages and her face and clothes So last week I got her some crayons and sketch pad. She really likes to sit in her high chair and scribble. And she drops the crayons off the side and says “uh-oh” All of the crayons are now broke b/c she drops them so I may try markers. I have thought about those tadoddles. They are a little more costly and I wondered if they would hold up to a fall off the high chair. I also wondered if they slow the process of learning to hold a writing utensil properly? What do your kids like?

I get Roseart washable crayons, they are 97 cents for 16 at walmart so i dont feel bad if they break. We have introduced markers but she likes crayons better, she also like colored pencils

Emma loves crayons! She started with them at about 12 months, I'd say. Crayola makes special crayons for different ages and stages. If you want to get her markers, I'd suggest getting "Crayola Color Wonder" markers and books. The markers only color on the special paper/books that go with them. They're a tad bit more, but it's cheaper than having to treat your carpet, repaint your walls, or tossing good clothes out!

We have the Tadoodles but Tiffy seems to like the real thing better.
They are nice though, and sturdy.
When school is about to start (August or Sept) all the stores have Crayola crayons really really cheap!!!! They were like 24 cents for a pack of about 24.....so I grabbed several. I figured it would be easy to grab a pack to put in the diaper bag and let her color the walls at Grandma's house! (just kidding)
I think Tiffany was about 12 months when she started using pens and crayons. She loves to scribble. She is so proud of herself when she draws a circle.

izzy started coloring around then. i have a TON of school supplies left over from teaching, so she uses a plain ol spiral notebook. we only give her one MAYBE two crayons at a time, otherwise they end up everywhere or broken. marker's kinda a pain to get off(although, goo gone works wonders!), so for now we're sticking with crayon.

Gabby loves to draw... i tried the tadoddles but gabby learned to take the crayons out of it in like 2 mins, so we just went to normal pencils and crayons... at Xmas time we started markers... i always have Gabby on the kitchen floor so that if she goes off the paper it will wipe easily off... Gabby is good at not drawing on anything but the paper but we do get some on herself

K has the tadoodles, too. However, she colors for all of .02 seconds before she eats the crayon. .
