Once you reach the desired length and reach the end of a row and end of a stitch~one loop on the hook~ cut the yarn about 4-5 inches from the hook. Then pull the yarn through the loop~all the way through so there is no loop~and pull tight. After this, weave in the remaining length into the wrong side of the afghan. Tug and pull a bit at the top of the afghan to see how secure or noticeable the weave is. If you can't see it or barely see it, you've done an excellent job concealing the tail. Store the leftover ball of yarn for a later project. You're afghan is done. If this yarn you used is machine washable and dryable run it through the machines before wrapping. If not, following the cleaning instructions on the yarn label. A fresh, hand made afghan is a wonderful gift. Congratulations on completing your first big project!
