Default CVS and New ECB system....what have we learned

It seems the instant ECB policy is in effect nationally. Of course there are kinks in the system and new "rules". Let's share it all here so its in one place.
- If you are purchasing multiples of an item which earns ECBs in one transaction you will get one ECB, not one for each item. For example, if you purchase two Softsoaps you will get a single ECB for the value of both.
- ECBs are printed with a expiration one month from activation.
What else has been learned and confirmed?

There is a little printout at the end of my receipt that tells me if a deal's limit has been reached. It says Offer Limit Reached. I had never seen that before the instant ECBs started printing.

The instant ECB print out even though you are at the old 30 coupon max.

However, when I 'tested' them on cvs.com as to validity, they could not be used.

Looks like if you are a few cents short on a buy X dollar amount deal, that you will not get them instantly, but still will in two days as before.

I agree with everything posted so far (ingosgirl - I checked & found the same issue as you... )

Also, let me add: the instantbucks tell you right on there what promo they were for: "Here are your Extra Bucks for having purchased Maybelline Cosmetics"

Had the issue last night. I had checked the 'validity' of coupons the other day and then had one come up with an error while shopping last night. Luckily I had another that would work for my order and it did work. I am trying to avoid having coupons 'keyed in' so as to clear up my account. My local store knows me though and they were juuuuust about to happily key in the offending ECB before I suggested trying another. I then went on to explain my theory on what had happened and told them their life is going to be 'fun with this new issue'. We were all rolling our eyes at the problems CVS causes for itself.

Default Expired ECBs cannot be reset

Does anyone know if this is true...that expired ECBs cannot be reset? I am kind of bummed about this aspect of the new system...I wish they would give the ECBs a 2 month expiration or something a little bit longer.

I think we are all going to hate this new system soon.

Does anyone know if the instant ecb purchases show up on the account online?

So does this mean that if I get back an ECB today I cannot use it later today as it is not active? Is there a 48 hour activation wait on instant ECB's?
