Default Cyber Monday vs. Black Friday

Which do you prefer? Are the prices the same? Is it worth standing in the lines and sorting through the crowd on Black Friday when you can do the same thing in the warmth of your home the following Monday?

The deals are different. It has become a real sport here in the USA to get there before the sun is up for the early deals. Some of these "doorbusters" are limited in quantity and people take a number - others are limited in time - ie after 11 am the price goes up.

My experience with black friday is that you DO have to go early, and plan your shopping. It helps to know where the item you want is located. It also helps to go in teams with a list - that way if one person doesn't get the item, another person on the team (family) might see it on display first. Also, when working teams, carry a cellphone.

Cyber Monday is great for AFTER black friday deals, or if you can't get to black friday. And many cyber Monday deals are ongoing through the weekend before the monday.

Here is some more about it - probably a good spot to watch for deals being posted.

Thanks for the link... I had never heard of "syber monday" before! I am usually one parked outside the toy store at 4:30 am, but with a nursing newborn, I don't see myself doing that this year!!

I've never participated in blackfriday. I don't plan on it this year either...I might do cyber-monday, but I'm afraid that perhaps the servers will crash if a store gets too many customers.

We are already done Christmas shopping, plus we found out that DH's hours may be cut soon, so we are skipping both! I usually love Black Friday!!

I LOVE deals, but hate crowds so I generally skip Black Friday. Oh yes, and I also LOVE sleeping in. I'm not getting up at 2am to stand in line. DH would probably have me committed if I tried it (and he's cheaper than I am!)
