Default Dave Ramsey Total Money Makeover

First, Janet said I could post this.
DH and I have been looking into the "Dave Ramsey Total Money Makeover", but are hesitant to pay the yearly fee. We are looking for any input you have about the program. Have you used it/are you using it? Does it work? What parts did you like? I'm not asking you to spill the beans, I just want to know if you think it's worth the money. We love his program (though I kinda cringe whenever he says "don't buy anything you don't need"...because I like things. ), and I noticed similarities between his and Suze Orman's plan . So let me know what you think.

Julie,

I don't know if you're aware of this, but there's a website dedicated to Dave Ramsey followers. It's www.llnoe.com . (Living like no one else).

I know there are some folks on the site who have talked about Dave Ramsey in the past. So I expect there will be some interest.

Yes, Janet is definitely for reducing debt and getting financial control.

I cannot praise Dave Ramsey's program enough!
DH and I have eliminated $13,000 debt in just five months. We have $8000 more to go, not including the house.
It's basic financial common sense but he presents it in a very doable and motivating way!
Although I thought we were fairly financially savvy before, our priorities are so much more clear now!
I, too, balked at the thought of shelling out money for the website and FPU class kit but it is WELL WORTH IT.
I highly recommend it!

Just an update for y'all! We bought the book, DH and I are both taking turns reading it, and we now have a plan. It feels great just having a plan!!! When we stick to our budget (I almost said "if" there ) we will eliminate our cc debt by January. Then we'll be onto the 6-month savings. Thanks for all the info!
