depressed about weight, go easy on me girls!!
Hi Everyone, I am a regular over at the trying to conceive board, but felt that this is where I also need to be right now. So I need to have a rant, so please be kind to me in your replies ladies. I am a 40 yr old mum to 3 kiddies, and have been ttc for nearly 2 yrs. During that time, I have basically, well you could say the old term "let myself go". I have been focusing on another baby so much that I have stopped eating healthily and done pretty much no exercise. I had all my babies in quick succession and have really not lost any of the pregnancy weight in between.
I am 5' 2 1/2, and weigh 70 kilos which converts to around 154 pounds. I have always been slim and fit, and right now feel the opposite. It's my own fault, I know that but we are having a break from ttc as we have lost two babies last yr and two this yr, hence I feel I need to look after me a little bit now.
So I am very unhappy with my appearance and keep thinking back to the old days lol before kids when I looked really good. Not to be conceited but if we were on a night out, guys would look at me, because I was attractive, now I don't think that would happen. I think the overall thing is that I have really aged since having my kids, I look older and I know that cannot be helped, but I haven't been taking care of myself and know I can look and feel better.
I looked in the mirror today and for the first time said to myself that I look "fat". In clothes I look ok, but I have bulked up all over my body, you know the fat rolls on the sides of your body, and I look about 4 months pg!!!!! I know there are some stomach muscles lurking in there somewhere, I just need to find them!
Anyway, I just needed to write this out, I am going to convince hubby to get me a gym membership and I am determined to look and feel great again. It will take a while though, I wish it could be overnight. Does anyone else feel this way, that they long to look and be like they did yrs ago? And have you made the change and seen results. Thank you all.

What i found that worked for me is low fat meals and eating 6 times a day with lots of fruits and veggies and of course lots of water, by doing that last year i lost almost 20 pounds and i'm now slimmer at 117 than i was when i met dh at 121.. Good luck!

I did the same as MiaCamille and lost all my weight after first two pgs, still working on the last 15 from my 3rd, 7 months ago, and that will require actuall excercise, What works for me is dvd's in my bedroom or living room. I work out on my schedule, when I have a free 30 minutes, instead of taking the hour + to go to the gym. My friend has a friend she carpools with to the gym, this keeps each of them motivated and it works for them. Good luck.

Understanding Weight Loss
Weight Loss - these two words has been part of our everyday lives. A lot of people I know are having problems with their weight that sometimes, bad things happen due to peer pressure and stress. I am one of them too. Good thing I found link removed. While browsing online, I've noticed that Kennedy is giving away free newsletter on weight loss surgery. I clicked on it and was surprised that it was not one of those propagandas. You are not required to click on ads, nothing at all. All you have to do is to subscribe to her newsletter by entering your e-mail address. Why don't you try it. It has enlightened me on things regarding weight loss, I want to help you too.

I don't have any helpful tips...I just wanted to let you know that I feel the same way with my weight although I weigh much more and I am the same height as you. I was losing weight by eating a small sandwich at lunch and baked chicken for dinner but I can only do that for so many weeks and I get bored. I weight 215 now and I have lost 15 pounds since October but I am so big that I can't tell and the number just doesn't encourage me as much as I thought it would. It's real work that I would rather not do and I have to really push to do it. I want to be healthy so bad...I just need to keep reminding myself what it's worth to me.

I suggest you exercise just even 2 hours everyday so you will forget about your problems. Thinking positive everyday is another thing you can do to forget about the past, so you can think about the present and future. Stay strong always.

I was wondering if you had a pedometor? I got one for Christmas and it's really a good motivation for me. I have a 10,000 steps minimum (even the steps to the bathroom count) I want to meet each day, whatever number I get to the next day I try to do more. It's almost like playing a game and trying to beat my score...I think it will really help.
