Default Depression Medication for a pregnant desperate woman

What's safe?
I feel like putting myself in a mental institution right now. I am bi polar, I am panicky. I just want to die. I need help.

Oh Megan! I'm so sorry you're going through this! I read your other thread. If you're at work, perhaps you should take today and tomorrow off as mental health days. Would it be possible to get into your OB/Doc tomorrow?? Ask them about some depression meds? Maybe they could suggest a good counciler for you and DH... or even for just you by yourself, too! DH and I went to a counciler this past summer for a while and it was the most wonderful thing we could have done for our relationship. I really hope your doctor has a list of good places for you to go, perhaps right at your own clinic/hospital.

Oh, and I was going to also suggest Zoloft... I was on it when I got PG with Alex, and continued to take it through the beginning of that pregnancy. I also asked my midwife about going back on it when I was PG with Devon, and she said it was safe. (I never did get the prescription, though, and I don't remember how it made me feel when I was on it while PG with Alex.) I'm sure there are plenty other ones out there, as well. I just liked Zoloft because my particular prescription had something in it that helped with sleeping so I would take it at night, and it was nice. Hopefully you and your doctor can find something that is good for you.

Please call your doctor ASAP to talk about this! You sound desperate and it is scaring me! PLEASE do not do anything rash! Your babies are depending on you, especially the lil' one in your tummy!

Pray... Pray for God to be with you, to help you, to give you strength. You will get through this!

I am so stinking MAD at your DH for making you feel this way!!!

Please call you doctor. I am praying for your comfort and strength during this difficult time!!!

Prozac in the lowest dose is safe - I was on it for this pregnancy, after the 12 week mark. My OB said I had to stop taking it about 3 weeks before birth, though, as the baby could become dependent onit.

GL.... I hope you and DH work things out. I wouldseriously consider counseling for you, espec. with pregnancy hormones, this will be a difficult time.
