Default Diaper Removal

My son is (almost) 15 months old. This afternoon I took his jeans off him before his nap so he was just wearing his shirt and diaper. When I went to get him an hour later he had removed his diaper and peed all over the crib. (Thank goodness that's all he did)

Later on he was still just wearing a diaper and he pulled at it again (and almost got it off). I immediately checked him and he had pooped. I figure at the very least he's telling me when it's time for a change, but has anyone else had experience with this at this age?

I DOUBT this is a sign he's ready to be potty trained (he seems WAY TOO YOUNG to even start thinking about that). Other than changing him immediately and making sure he's always wearing pants, do any of you have any other suggestions/advice/experience about little ones removing their diapers this young?

Aiden is 16mnths and I make sure he's in a onesie...I think its a boy thing. He has tried, unsuccesfully, to pull his diaper off and explore and a few times I have left him without a diaper on, to air him out, only to find him playing with the puddle at his feet I think this is a stage that all boys go through.

oh and Aiden will go find a diaper and tell us he needs to be changed...only it comes out "da peas" I bet both of ours may train earlier. My now 8 year old never did this at this age.

Hate to tell you this Lessly but that may very well be wishful thinking! Of course you never know. . .

My twins did that and that's why we starting potty training them earlier than we normally would have. We started training them at about 20 mos. and they started pulling diapers off at about 15 mos. or so. I also just made sure they were wearing onesies or were dressed. . .up until a certain point.

My girls did that. Once I went in to find a "beautiful" painting Katlyn had painted her walls, and her bed and her...YUCK!! Court loves taking hers off and running around with nothing on, she just says Oh Oh and I know what just happened. with Katlyn duck tape looked like the best thing onesies would not even stop her. I had to keep shorts/pants on at all times

My Katelyn (14 months next week) will pull hers off if she can get to it. She has even done it with a onesie on! She pulled it right out from beneath it leaving the onesie still buttoned up and on. That's when I decided she must be related to Hudini!! I just try to keep pants on her so she can't get to it but sometimes she manages to get the pants off too. I think they just like to be naked. By the way, my daughter has also been interested in her private parts

It may not be too early to potty train him. I was trained at 18 months, and every child is different! My friend's little one took her diaper off, pooped, and "made a mess" of it all over the walls. Count yourself blessed that it hasn't happened that way...yet!!! If he doesn't like the feeling of a dirty/wet diaper, maybe he's ready to move on! yay!
