Default Diapers and Wipes 101

Credit to Berlinsmommy who originated this on FW.

First of all, I only buy name brand (Huggies or Pampers) but I usually get them 25-50% off, but other than these and Babies R' Us/ Toys R' Us own brand (especially for baby), I don't really know where to find good prices on other brands. Sign up for diaper coupons for Huggies and Pampers if you haven't already.

There are often coupons for Huggies and Pampers in the sunday paper also.

Ok, on to other diaper deals at TRU/BRU- they send out coupon books periodically (if you don't get them, get on their mailing list ASAP by calling 1-800-869-7787). One of their coupons is for 15% off Huggies and Pampers. If you read the coupon carefully, you will see that 1.) It is good on multiples-meaning that with one coupon you can get 15% off several packages of Huggies and Pampers. 2.) It can be combined with manufacturer coupons-so get together all your Huggies and Pampers coupon, you will need one manufacturer coupon for each package you buy. For this deal I have found the best prices to be on the super mega boxes (not cases, but the smaller boxes). They are regularly priced at $18.99, so with 15% off, they are $16.14, and then take your manufacturer coupons off of that. Also, if you ask them very nicely, often they will let you use your 15% off coupon and then let you keep it (you do have to give them all your manufacturer coupons though).

Here is the breakdown on the Toys R' Us Value Pack Jr. Box of diapers:
Baby Dry:
Size 3 104 ct
Size 4 96 ct
Size 5 84 ct

Cruisers:
Size 2 104 ct
Size 3 88 ct
Size 4 76 ct
Size 5 64 ct

Easy-Ups:
Size 2T-3T 68 ct
Size 3T-4T 60 ct
Size 4T-5T 48 ct

Okay, here is the only part of the message about generics (I bought 1 pack but haven't tried them yet). TRU/BRU has their own brand, called especially for baby. They often have 20% off coupons in their mailings. I did not price all the different packages because I was only willing to try a small package of the supremes (that are supposed to be just like Huggies Supremes). They were $10.99, so with 20% off, they cost me $8.79.

Lastly, occasionally (not very often) I buy diapers at places other than BRU/TRU. Some deals you may want to be aware of: Target has their own internet coupons that can be stacked with manufacturer coupons, keep checking for them, back when they had $1 off Pampers Cruisers Target coupon, I combined those with my Pampers coupons and got a good deal when they went on sale. A while back they also had Super Mega boxes on clearance for $14, which is a great deal even without coupons, but using Target and manufacturer coupons I got them for $14-$1 Target coupon -$1.50 Pampers coupons=$11.50!!

Also, check your local stores to find out who accepts competitor coupons, sometimes you can get even better prices that way, for example, my local Albertsons had a sale on Pampers for $8.99 so I used Target printable coupons ($1 off) and Pampers coupons ($1.50 off) to get them for $6.50/pack. Also, Rite Aid does rebates on diapers a few times a year. Last month they had a $10 rebate if you buy 2 packs of Huggies and a $10 rebate if you buy 2 mega packs of Pampers, and they had their mega packs on sale for $15 and I had $1.50 coupons, so I got them for $13.50 per pack and then got a $5 rebate per pack. I have heard that Eckard has similar sales and rebates, but I do not have Eckard here, so I can't confirm.

Baby Clubs are a great Source for Diaper Coupons. The Publix Baby Club sends out coupons. The first mailing is a stack of FREE Coupons including diapers. Join as many of these as possible. I used to really LOVE the Eckerd Coupons $5 off and you could take them to Publix. Not Anymore though, Publix stopped accepting ECKERD COUPONS.

Check out Amazon.com for their Huggies deals and get FREE shipping!

If you have a Family Dollar in your area Pampers Jumbo are always $8 and they take coupons.

Wipes:
I have two main sources of cheap wipes. During Super double coupons (at my Kroger affiliate) the Huggies 80 ct box was around $2.49, and I had $1 coupons from the inserts and from the mailers, which doubled to $2 off, making the box under 50c. Recently, Kroger and its affiliates (by this I mean Gerbes, Dillons, Ralph's, Smith's, etc) had a upon on their website for $2 off Huggies. I combined this with a 50c coupon (that doubled to $1) and got $3 off an 80 ct tub that only cost $2.79. OVERAGE, woohoo!!! Huggies wipes were also a Kash for Gas item a while back, but I did not buy them then, so I'm not sure what the deal was, but it seems like Kroger and its affiliated stores do a lot of promos with Huggies.

My second source for cheap name brand (Huggies or Pampers) wipes is Toys R' Us and Babies R' Us. They often run promos on the 400 ct boxes of both Huggies and Pampers for $8.99. I usually buy 3 at a time and use the $5 off $25 store coupon and manufacturer coupons. For example last time I got three boxes (3x$8.99)= $26.97- $5 coupon= $21.97- 3x $1 mfc coupons($3)= $18.97, which is $6.32 a box. Then I bought several Huggies Pull-Ups 3 packs and Gerber trial sized lotions (79c-$1 coupons) for overage to lower my total even further.
