Default Free Body for Life Book!

I measure once a week now that I'm on an actual program.
Since Sunday is my Free Day and effectively the end of my dieting week, I do my measurements first thing Sunday morning.

BTW everybody -
I made an offer to Cathy about the Body for Life book. I'm willing to extend that (I'll send it to you FREE) to anybody who will agree to read the book and honestly try Body-for-Life for one full week - sharing your experience here with the rest of us. Obviously this offer is good for a limited time only - when I run out of Paypal cash, that's when the offer runs out.

Just PM me your mailing address and I'll send you a copy.

Thank you, Lisa--I would really love that. I feel like I need a bit more info. before diving in--and since I just came down sick AGAIN yesterday and am wishing very badly for my bed at the moment (putting my efforts and that complete trip to the grocery store on hold) it seems like a good time to get more info. then start the plan the right way. Thank you again.

Cathy

PS I have managed to try some Myoplex bars, Detour bars, and AdvantEdge (not the low-carb ones--I love the low carb ones though) bars--I have to say I like them all. Really.

Well, I've discovered that part of why Special K works for weight loss is that it has a laxative effect. And the Xocai chocolate I take also has a mild laxative effect. And I've had both today. You see where this is going -- yep. I want to lose weight but not this way. So that's just a warning for ya -- if you're going to do Special K, make sure you're not taking other forms of laxatives or stool softeners.

Have you ladies heard about that Xenacal type "drug" that is now going to be available over the counter? I used Xenacal and it worked (didn't enjoy the side effects, but it worked). I couldn't recal the name of the version the news mentioned was to be OTC. Anyone know. I want to buy it!

Has anyone here used Hydroxycut. I ought to search the weight-loss blogs since perhaps some of my questions might be answered there. Anyway, my brother's trainer suggested it for him. I was wondering if anyone has found it benificial.

When Xenical first became available, my brother told me a story of a buddy who had an accident (bowel accident, not crash) in his beloved car. I have written it off as something I would not try!

MJ7, I tried Xenical a really long time ago--I wasn't disciplined at the time and it didn't do anything for me. But I quit quickly anyway because of the "side effects," (aka orange oil coming from areas orange oil should NOT come from).

The OTC version is going to be called Alli I believe and from what I heard it should be availbale by this summer. The reduced dosage is supposed to limit the side effects.

Trist, you made me laugh I'll be sure to watch my combo of cereal and chocolate.

I can totally understand how this could happen! My dr. warned me to still avoid high fatty foods for this reason. You don't want to pass gas anywhere but the bathroom with this med too.

Cathy, your book is on the way today!
Anybody else up to the Body-for-Life mini-challenge? Let me know and I'll send you a copy of the book!

I've tried it. It didn't do a thing for me but every body responds differently.

Two OTCs that worked well for me were Trimspa and LeanSystem 7. You can get them both at WalMart but they do get pricey after a while.

Default Yummarama!

OMG, I almost forgot to tell you about this!

On the BfL program, one of the foods that is allowed is pumpkin. Well, when I saw that on the list, I thought, "well, what the heck good is pumpkin of it isn't a pie?"

Check this out! I mixed up:

1 15oz can pumpkin
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
1/4 tsp Ginger
1/4 tsp Cloves
Dash Nutmeg
4 Scoops Designer Whey Vanilla Praline
1/4C Splenda

Then I put it into 2 custard cups and chilled. Each custard cup has:

22g Carbs - 10g Fiber = 12 net carbs
40g Protein
And a full days' supply of just about every B vitamin you need!

I'm eating it right now and it is fan-freaking-tabulous!
This stuff is so awesome I'm going to start making it for my husband!

Lisa, what's designer whey? Does it have lots of sequins on it? Or is it so expensive that when you go to buy it, you say, "no whey?" Seriously, I've never heard of it. Praline sounds good, though!

I'm down to 259.2, ladies. Are we dancing or what!! I'll be happier when I'm a little further away from 260. It's still dangerously close. I think I'll feel safer in another pound or two.
