DNA tests
How accurate to you think they are? I don't want to go into it fully, but DH got a kit off an online website ((the ones that do the Maury show actually)) and it came with swabs and all, and then you send it back. He has a child from a previous relationship that he just wanted to be certain about. It came back 99% and all was good. Thing is, this child looks/acts nothing like him, or our other kids. I know he is doubting the test. Could it have been wrong?

from the research i've done, those tests are pretty accurate. i'm the youngest of 5 (all have the same dad), and i don't think any of us look/act the same. HTH

Those test are accurate. And like purelegance says, there were three of us, and we didn't look alike at all. My youngest sister looked so different some thought she was adopted!

They are very reliable, which is why they are used in court. Maybe the child just resembles the mother's side of the family more. My step daughter looks nothing at all like my husband either.

My mom is blonde-blue eyes and my dad has brown hair-blue eyes...their first daughter is a red head-green eyes the next is strawberry blonde-blue eyes and the next was white blonde-blue eyes and then I am a red head-olive eyes. We all have the same parents but look nothing at all alike

Certainly, they are not 100% accurate. Somewhere along the line, 1 out of 100 tests are in correct.
Bye and large, it is an effective test.
If you are that concerned, go to the doctor or a clinic for more testing.
Not every child looks exactly like their parent.

i was just saying this to dh this week that our last dh looks nothing like us, i can go on the streets and people can easily think that i'm the babysitter... I do think those kits are accurate too...

I agree siblings can often not resemble each other...you have to look very carefully to see how my brother & I relate---ironically, people would be more likely to believe my dh was my brother rather than my actual brother! lol
Sorry hon, I know that's probably not the answer you were looking for.

I wasn't really looking for a certain answer... I was just wondering...
I think the real problem is that DH's son's mom never makes him feel like he's the father... I think if that would change, and she would include him more, and treat him like dad, he'd feel better about it
Thank you all so much
