Default Do the pregnancy scares ever end?

I don't mean to offend or hurt anyone ttc, but I have four children. I have the Mirena IUD. I'm pretty "done" with having babies-as much as I love them. I cannot afford any more, kwim?

Anyway-I had "that feeling" in my breasts for a couple weeks. Blamed it on Mirena (anything weird it's her fault!). Then I thought I started my period, but it was more bright red spotting than it was an actual period. I again blamed Mirena. Then this morning I was at my computer & had to quick dry heave into a bunched up plastic bag I happened to have sitting here-no time to even open it! I did that twice this morning. Then I was fine the rest of the day.

So I was a little concerned. I hear stories all the time about women getting pregnant on the Mirena. I just went & poas & it's negative. Now I'm irritated & angry that I even had to go through that emotionally. There is a teenie part of me that would love another baby...but it's not something I can afford. So I had to have that faint disappointment when I saw the negative line, while being relieved at the same time. If that makes any sense. Only a woman could feel such duplicity about a negative pregnancy test!

It is bittersweet, wanting another child, but knowing you are 'done' in that department.

If you feel like this BC is not right for you and your body, consider switching to something else.

(((Hugs)))

Can you go borrow a friend's baby for a few hours to get your new baby fix?

I can recall our last scare.....we'd been on a big vacation and
the boys were jr high age. We'd BD every day, and not been as careful as at home.

Few weeks later, I no AF and DH was having chest pain problems. I thought I'd brought home a surprise little vacation souvenir.

Nope, I did not tell him. DH went to the cardiologist for testing.

At the hospital where I work, I'd asked that my OB/Gyne fax over a script for a blood pg test. (Sometimes you just want to know fast and now.)

Before I could catch the fax for the test, one of the other coworkers got it first.

"Angie, you're pg?" "Angie's having a baby!" I think everybody in the hospital knew or thought they knew. This was before I took the test even. No, I wasn't pg and DH turned out to be ok with the cardiologist.

Later that week I saw the cardiologist and his RN. Told them the story, and everybody had a giggle. He told me he'd have written the script for the blood test for me.

I think that two is plenty for us. Two in college is really expensive!

I'm glad you are feeling better! Sorry you are not pregnant. (Because even if you can't have one, I know you still want to )

I guess the I-want-another-baby-blues never do go away!

Also guess there's no harm in trying. If you get preggers on bc it was meant to be!
