Default Do you feed your dogs raw food?

I've been thinking about switching to feeding my dog raw food. Right now, I've been saving money on Purina brand (purina dog food coupons) and I've heard that feeding my dogs raw would more. What is the advantages of both?

We feed the dog what we eat raw, but if the kids leave some of theirs or if we do, then get a little bit cooked as well.

Does it end up costing you a lot more in groceries?? I have 2 dogs, a 50 lb. and a 35 lb dog. We spend about $50 a month on Science Diet.....but I would love to switch them to raw meet......although I would be worried about it if it wasn't organic meet cuz of all the hormones, antibiotics, and such.
I know I am nuts. I can see me now feeding my dogs Organic Grass fed meet!!!!

The meat used in Science diet isn't organic- so I'd specualte they're getting those nasty hormones through that.

There was a think on Oprah about this and a book about starting to feed a dog this way. I know they're animals- but when we do give Bayleigh meat, I cook it.

We have three dogs, one jack russell two collies, for a start, even organic meat is exposed to antibiotics, otherwise, it couldn't be sold into the food market. Also, organic meat is steal reared in sheds and cages, the young, especially pigs are bottle fed formula, obviously, not organic. The only difference to normal cheap meat is that they aren't given steroids and growth hormones. Free range animals however, aren't given anything, apart from antibiotics. We don't feed our animals pet food as we live miles away from the nearest pet shop, I don't think it costs us more in food, the stuff we give them we aren't going to eat, such as pigs trollers, lamb brains, heart, lungs etc. Then with the vegetables they need they get our scraps, carrot peelings, broccoli stalks, brussel stalks and all stuff like that.

I'm skeptical about raw meat as a whole, even for me. Too many dangers of diseases related to raw meat products.
