Do you like your doctor?
I'm not sure if I like my doctor or if I'm being sensitive. A little background~hubby & I have been married seven years and have tried to conceive since being married. We have been told that we are infertile by doctors and then being told there's nothing wrong. Anyways, hubby and I decided to adopt from foster care and had just gotten our first placement of a two month old baby boy and then I find out I'm pregnant!!! I love my foster son, but he was reunited with his grandparents.
So now, I am nine weeks pregnant and found a prenatal doctor down the street from my job. My doctor is from India and she's older (maybe 55 plus). She seems nice, but she's very blunt and kind of aggressive. I am 5 feet 3 and I've always weighed about 95 pounds. I've been thin my whole life. Both of my parents are thin. Anyways, at my first prenatal appt, I weighed 95 pounds in November when I had my physical and then at my first appt, I was 100. For my second appt, I was 99 pounds. She's concerned that I won't gain weight and wants me to keep a food journal. Hello, I'm only nine weeks and I only lost one pound.
Also, she told me I can only have one cup of juice, and one cup of milk per day and the rest needs to be water. I've never heard that milk is a bad thing during pregnancy.
Also, she keeps trying to force me to take prescription prenatal vitamins, and I've tried two different brands, but I can't swallow them. I have been taking over the counter ones and she isn't pleased and she told me to call the pharmacist and let them recommend me a smaller, prescription pill. I've heard several women say their doctor says they take over the counter prenatal vitamins or two filntstone vitamins.
Am I being sensitive or is she not trying to work with me at all?
