Default Do you think.....

that SPD should be part of the spectrum??

The signs and symptoms are so alike it is scary!!

My daughter has SPD with Autistic behaviors/tendencies. I sure do think that it should be part of the spectrum!! It is just too similar.

What do you think?

In a word no. Sensory integration or SPD is something that a child can grow out of with therapy, autistic spectrum disorders are life long disabilities and while they can be improved they will not go away.

You can have an atypical autism diagnosis if your child has enough autistic tendencies.

Default hi

no it should not be part of the spectrum the differances are the triad
and children with spd do not have enough impairments in the three areas . that is how autism is distinquished by the triad
