Summer time always makes me think of the county fairs. Do you work fairs for your home business? I have worked them in the past but it's been a while now. I don't work them today but know many women who do. What about you?

I did for a while when I was selling Avon. The problem was, everyone else in the area who sold Avon did this too. So I would have to be sure that it was limited.

I found with Avon it was not so good, unless you do a lot of fairs and have a huge inventory on hand. People at fairs are always looking for an unbeatable deal, and this can be hard with home based sales.

Yes, I do fairs and festivals when I can find one that will let me in. The problem down south is they all want hand-made crafts only! I make personalized music cd's for kids and this is considered a commerical product. But the fairs and festivals I have done have been great!

I posted in another folder that I have a mobile stuffing biz.

I was just invited to participate in a kids fair Memorial day weekend along with another crew member who lives in my area.

I've also been looking into our county fair this year, but I'm not sure if I can still get a booth at this point- the fair is the July 4th weekend (goes 7/1-5). If I don't do that this year, I'll make sure I am prepared for next year. The challenge with doing this far is that it's 5 days long, and bring in over 500 thou people- meaning I would have to have people helping me run the booth and enough inventory between all of us to last 5 days!

I've inquired about other fairs as well, and have come up with the same issue about wanting the stuff to be hand made- well, the animals come in kits and we hand stuff them, but so far I've not been able to get into any of those fairs under that premise. Who knows, if I keep bugging the coordinators they may eventually let me in!!
