Default Does Corporate CVS discourage coupon usage among it's employees?

Something said at one store left me angry. Apparently to get a higher position at CVS, corporate examines an employee (the basic stuff of course) plus they also factor in how you handle people with coupons. Apparently if you want a higher position you can't be helping out people who use coupons. They (couponers) are looked upon as people who are doing something shady by using so many coupons. I couldn't believe it. This was not said directly to me as i don't work there but was told to an employee which would explain why some workers are so nasty about coupons.

After the horrible experience I had with a CVS manager when I was purchasing the One Touch Ultra Mini meters two weeks ago, I could definately believe this. He was making up rules on the spot, and I was politely calling him on every one of them. I told him if he didn't want me to shop in his store to just tell me up front, rather than treat me like dirt. The thing is, the pharmacy offered to order these in for me! I ended up not even purchasing all 10 that they ordered for me since the mgr. was such a jerk! This is the second CVS that has pulled this on me-and both times it was over glucose meters.

Don't be so quick to believe what you hear from somebody in the store. In all likelihood they are about as knowledgeable about corporate HR practices as the average employee is about coupons in general.

I've encountered my share of CVS employeees who don't know what a coupon is or how to ring one up. But these don't appear to be the brightest crayons in the box. I really doubt that they would actually reward an employee or manager for treating coupon users like crooks, when their store nationwide has a long standing promotion which makes coupon use advantageous for all.
If someone is "rating" employees this way, then my guess is that it does not come from the corporate office.

I actually got this info from a very reliable source. This was a discussion that was had with a manager who observes different stores in this area. But i am glad that the employee it was told to rejected the idea of doing such a thing. And i agree with the notion that they have this huge cou program but it's not about the ECBs, it's about the manu cous and the fact there are those who frequently use cous such as myself. Like i said i was shocked and so was the employee when a manager said this.

BTW tsl this employee knows cous very well and has no problem with people who use them. This person is extremely helpful and is all about pleasing the customer so they will want to come back.

At the store up the street from me the shift manager was nice to me at first, but lately everytime I go in there she gets rude with me. The store manager however is really nice to me all the time. I think Anointed has a point there.

I worked for CVS for 6 years. This is not true. CVS bends over backwards to make sure you spend as little as possible expecially when it isn't coming out of their pocket.
