Default Does your cashier circle your ECB when they print?

Yesterday, I had a cashier take the register receipt and slowly, circle the 2 ECB that I received for 2 different deals. I've had this cashier before (not coupon friendly AT ALL) and she's never done this. I felt violated in the sense that she was trying to see how much I received back. She was talking to another customer the whole time (about customer service, no less) and stopped what she was doing once the receipt printed. She took her time, read the ECB, and then circled them. What's up with that?

In all my CVS shopping, I've had ONE other cashier circle it before and she just gave a quick circle with the pen. No reading involved. Does your cashier usually circle your ECB?

Immediately after April 1 when the instant prints occurred, local cashiers were marking through the ECB amount with a highlighter. A few days later, the expected degradation of thermal ink started to occur. I mentioned it and showed them a few days after that and they said they had been instructed to highlight but they would tell their managers the ill effect. I would bet your cashiers have also been instructed to start marking the ECBs.

Thanks for your response. Makes me feel better.

The circling thing seems to come and go here - I think they are suppossed to do it with the quarterlies to encourage it - I LOVE getting a quaterly with a bunch of others and a cashier that has no clue

I had an older lady do that to me in October. It was very annoying because she did it so slow and I just wanted to get out there. Plus she was making a huge scene about all the ECBs I was earning...that was when they weren't advertised in my area. She also would look at every coupon and match it up to my items. I felt very violated every time she checked me out. Needless to say, I avoid that CVS at all costs.

Personally, I feel like I am cabapable of reading my receipts and they don't need to point it out like I'm a child that I have ECBs...I guess people that don't do CVS like me, it would be helpful but to me its just annoying!

There is only one cashier in my town (with two CVS) who circles my ECB amounts...she told me that they are supposed to do that every time (she did highlight them once). I kind of like that she circles them because it makes it that much quicker for me to find the $ amount on them!

I hate this. There is only one store that I shop at that does it. I now grab the receipt before she's able to find her pen to start marking!
