Post Dogs eating habits..

my dog eats her food really really fast, and then gets sick and brings it back up whole about 30 minutes later.

Ive tried spreading her food out so she cant eat it as fast, and ive gone from 2 meals a day to 3 little ones like the vet recommended, but that still didnt help.
Has this happened to anyone? How did you fix it, or teach her to slow down?
She is an 11 month old golden retriever, so people say she'll grow out of it as she turns into an adult, but my two other dogs never finished 3/4 of a cup of food in about 45 seconds.
Thanks so much!

I don't have any advice. My cat does the same thing...limiting her access to food did help her.

Maybe your dog needs to be double checked & make sure there isn't some sort of blockage going on.

Was she a stray at some point or denied food? One of my cats was a stray and he growled and ate his food so fast that it did end up coming back up, if I don't keep a supply out at all times and he runs out he does it even now after four years. Try a treat before giving her food to help her tummy or soft food. When my cat has a really hard time I give him a little soft food before his other food and that seems to help him take his time. I'm not sure how big your dog is, you could try larger dog food so she has to bite it instead of just swallowing it. Ask the vet about acid refelx too, I'm not sure if dogs get it. Hope it works out

this is kinda reverse, but what if you always had a bowl of food available? that way he knows he'll always have food & will never starve

I also have a golden retriever.
Mix his food with brown rice, this will help settle his stomach. Also, you can put a ball, a small closed tupperware, something he won't eat, in the dish with his food. This will help him slow down because he has to eat around something.

I know this works for some dogs, but usually Goldens will eat all day long. Also, dogs usually need to go outside after eating. If you're not around during the day to let your dog go outside, then scheduled feedings are better.

Is the bowl on the floor? If so try a raised bowl as eating from floor level is difficult for dogs.
