The best find my ex husband made was an antique overstuffed chair. It had beautiful carving. I thought it was junk until we removed the filthy slip covers, and what a beautiful surprise was underneath. Still has some of the original horsehair stuffing. We had it recovered and added to the stuffing.

When we divorced, since it had been his gift to me, he allowed me to take it (he fought me for a lot of junk, which I took because he had duplicates of better quality and because I didn't want to have to spend money to replace them)

I need to have new springs put in as it is sagging, and it probably needs new upholstery or a repair since my cat has torn one of the seams in the side arm. Still a very comfortable chair! And it was great for nursing babies, especially if an older child wanted to cuddle too!

In this day and age sometimes you just have to do the unthinkable.

My Uncle used to pick his kids up & put them in. They collected anything useful & all the cans they could find. They never tore open bags but did look into boxes. He tried to get me in one once. Did NOT happen. I was way too girll-girly to get in a dumpster. I was the "lookout" for cops. In my town it is against the law.

It's against the law in the UK also, one the junk has been put into the skip/dumpster, then it's considered the property of the skip/dumpster owner. Taking anything out is considered stealing.

That's why we can up with the idea of vdumpsters, if we advertise our junk for free collection, then it's still our property but neigbours etc can take advantange of it. you can offer any vouchers you've found also. we've got trashcycle also for what really is trash, but others might like to use.

It's great for home educators when it can be expensive to get arty stuff for their topics.

you can upload anything you want for free collection, jam jars, tv's etc we've even had the occasional cars offered also.

if you join look me up and become my friend there
