Default Dyslexia??

Anyone have a Dyslexic child?

Any pointers on how to nip it in the bud while they are still young?

Thankfully none of my kids are showing signs of dyslexia. However I have a mild form of it. I wasn't diagnosed until in highschool, but looking back I wonder how my parents missed it. I remember many MANY times while reading with my mom, and she would make me read the same word over and over and over because I was misreading it, although to me it looked exactly how I was saying it. Math was also fun, I transposed alot of numbers. Now as an adult, you can only tell when I'm very rushed, very stressed, or very tired. Growing up I just got used to double and triple checking everything. Plus spellcheck has helped alot! Unfortunately it doesn't catch it if my transpositions make an actual word though.

You can't nip dyslexia in the bud, you just find different exercises so that certain things are easier to grasp, I've always been tempted to get tested, I still get confused as to which way around I should write an s and get mixed up between my B and D.
