Default ear infection?

This whole weekend, Parker has been very fussy. He just is not being himself. He keeps pulling at his right ear as well. But he doesn't have a fever. Can they have ear infections but not have the fever as well?

Doe he have anything coming out his nose? My kids always got the green gooey nose when they had an ear infection.

How old is Parker?

Mine didn't always have a high fever...if he keeps pulling on it, I'd make an appt. Is it red in there? (use a flashlight).

It could be an ear infection or he is teething. I would just make an appointment to be sure.

An ear infection (a real one--they can be misdiagnosed or over diagnosed) will always have/be associated with fluid build up in the ears. Most commonly that means that your child will have been congested (nasal passages or head cold type stuff). Generally there's a fever--but not always. Ear infections will also always feel 'worse' at night.
Like the others have said, I would make an appointment to get it checked out. However even if it is, antibiotics are not always the way to go in children under 2. Try pushing fluids. . .and lots of them to help encourage his body to heal. You can also give Tylenol or Motrin at night to help ease the pain and/or homeopathic ear drops to help ease the pain. Also, things like hanging out in a hot muggy steamy bathroom are very helpful.

Parker is 4 months old, today actually. He's been a lot better today though, so maybe it is just teething. His ears aren't red or anything on the inside. I'm going to call tomorrow and make an appointment though, just to be sure! Thanks =]

He's really young for teething. . .especially molars which are most commonly associated with ear issues. also, you are not able to look on the inside with just your eye and tell whether or no it is red. That's not the part that gets infected. But I'm glad you're going in tomorrow. Ear infections are not fun and are not good to play around with.
