Default Eating Enough?

Well mum keeps going on that she believes that Gabby isn't eating enough, personally i think that for Gabby (every child is different) that she is having enough but thought i would get some other opinions.

for Breakfast she get a small bowl of cereal (about a fair size of my handful)
Lunch might be half a sandwich (i just use one slice and fold it into half)
or a 120g (4 oz) jar food (or homemade food to about the same about)
Dinner i've started giving her a small plate of what we eat (about the same amount as breakfast)
or another Jar/homemade food
for Afternoon snack she might have a cheese stck
or bread stick
or some fruit
or something around that size of food
then most nights she will have another snack
or if she didn't really eat much dinner it might be a jar of baby custard or yogurt
plus she has at least 4 feeds on the breast and some water

she is a bit fussy and sometimes wont eat all that but on them days she usually has more breast

Sounds fine to me! She's still getting a lot of nutrients from the BM.

You only have to look at her to see she's healthy and thriving. Tell your mum to stop worrying.

She eats more then Kaydee on some days! Kaydee is picky some days and refuses to eat anything, and other days she eats a ton. As long as she is gaining weight and active you have nothing to worry about!!

Right-- I agree with the other ladies. As long as she's healthy and growing and gaining weight, then of course she is eating enough! And it seems to me she's getting plenty, especially with 4 breastfeedings a day! I consulted our ped when I thought Alex wasn't eating enough and she reassured me that as long as she's growing and gaining weight then she's getting enough! Besides, kids around this age are able to eat when they're hungry and stop when they're not, so don't worry, mommy! You're not neglecting her!

see i felt she was getting enough as she is happy and active and at her 12 mths she was 8.5kg (more than 3 times her birth weight), 77cm in length (half again her birth) and 44cm around the head (not quite half agin from birth), that sounds like a good healthy well-fed child to me... the problem is she is very tall and thin (not like she is skin and bones or anything... there a bit of fat on her) and she isn't sleeping through the night, mum thinks if she got more for dinner she would sleep (just to prove the theory that if the child has solids they will sleep better wrong; i couldn't get Gabby to eat much the other week and that night she sleep through)... there are days when she want eat very much and i do note that a lot of the times mum sees her are days she doesn't eat much (i think she is holding out in the hopes that mum will give her something she likes better like cake and chocolate) but i really feel that if she was indeed hungry then she would be crying and whinging at me all the time
