Edema Pictures
Ok so I need to shave and I didnt realize that my camera would show that much detail but this is my leg after just pressing my finger in for 5 seconds which is what my dr says is standard when checking for edema. I personally am grossed out by this but also find it a little funny. My skin feels mushy and weird and the indents can be humorous. My sister in law made a butt like imprint in my leg a little bit ago.

Lay down and have a rest - put your feet up.
Keep drinking plenty of water.
Avoid salt in any form.

My dr has told me to stop eating as much salt as possible. I was told to drink nothing but milk and water and some juice occasionally is ok. He told me he wants me to try and limit my salt intake to 1000-1500mg a day. I didnt realize just how much salt I did eat before. I do have permission to have a lipton naturals tea as it has 0 salt in it. But only one a day since it has caffine. The edema is kinda freaky because i always sit indian style and end up with a huge indent from my heel on my calf. I didnt realise how bad it was until I noticed it on my feet too. I plan on laying around all weekend i have an appt on monday and pray that things are a little better. I am heading off to bed as I have been exhausted all day and will be sleeping with pillows under my feet to keep them elevated. My feet hurt my skin feels really tight on my legs and feet so I need to do something about the swelling

I kinda know what the tight feet feel like... I didn't have bad swelling before delivery, but had rotten swelling in my legs and feet after my c/s. Not fun. I hope you're feeling better today!

Oh My Kristin! Take care of you and your babe....keep your feet up and can you consider going on mat leave now? Standing up for long periods of time is not good for you or your babe right now...HugZ to you both...I hope Jaxon stays in a little longer.

How is your blood pressure? I don't want to be an alarmist-but I was just like that with Bobbie and it was pre-eclampsia. If you have any vision disturbance or headache, call your provider asap. Ok? I only worry because of what I went through. I'm sure you will be just fine.

My blood pressure has been in the 140s over 70s or 80's My dr is a little worried about it. I am very concerned with it and that is why i went to the dr then went to ob then went to the dr again. We are seeing how the weekend goes and I will be talking to him on monday at my appt. I am on strick orders to relax as much as possible this weekend but it is very hard because my sister in law's mom died in a fire this past monday and the funeral is today the wake was yesterday and then there is going to be a big memorial dinner for her on sunday. So this will be interesting trying to stay off of my feet but yet be there for my SIL.
