My elderly mother fell yesterday in their apartment.
We were returning from the wedding 6 hours and 3 states away.
My sis that was an hour away was the 'on-call' for my being away. Sis had been at the apt yesterday having lunch and visiting with them.
I am not even certain if Dad called her to let her know.
He did call the emergency calllight to summon help for Mom. The building managers arrived quickly & the 9-1-1 firemen are less than 2 minutes away and quickly came. They helped Mom up from the floor and she got her bearings.
Apparently her leg had fallen asleep, so she thought she'd 'walk it off.' She walks with a wheeled walker, not any long distance. Mostly uses her electric wheelchair as does my elderly Dad.
Thank God she is only sore and bruised. I could see in my head Mom having a broken hip or arm.
We gave her a good looking over when we arrived locally at 2:15. She was in good spirits and enjoyed looking at the wedding photos.
Plus, she enjoyed seeing the college aged grandkids (4) that went to the wedding w/ us.
So thankful she is doing fine.

They were joking tonight, when I had dinner w/ them, that Mom only wanted to see the handsome firemen come help her.
*giggles*
Wish I could take their photos. Several of the older ladies all commented how handsome 'their' firemen all are.
I'm thankful she is just bruised, and nothing broken.
