Default Escape Artist - Crib Escapee

My little 21 month old has turned into a crib crawler. She used to go to sleep at 8:00 sharp at night, laid down with no problems.

Now, since she learned to get out of her crib... she won't stay in there. She will be dozing, and then catch herself almost going to sleep, then wake herself up and crawl out. She will be like, dead tired too. But because she has the power to crawl out, she crawls out.

So now, I am watching over her like a prison guard trying to keep my escapee in the crib. I have to stand vigil for about 15 minutes. I have tried a later sleep time, but she still crawls out tired.

What can I do? The book I am reading says to babysafe her room and then put a gate up. It also says to lower the crib and let her have at it in the room as long as the gate is up. But I can't because she shares a room with me in an overcrowded house (with her little sis Jaz too). And the crib doesn't lower... but I could deal with that.

Is there anything I can buy to keep her in? What can I do because I don't want to get into the habit of guarding her every night.
