Question Evening Primrose Oil to soften cervix?

Has anyone ever heard of taking evening primrose oil to soften the cervix? Has anyone tried it and found that it worked or didn't? I've been reading a little about it and considered taking it but I would like to know if anyone has had any first-hand experience with it? Thanks!

Well. . .you can take it orally starting from 37 weeks on. . .or you can use it as a suppository at about 39 weeks.

i tried this when i was about 42 weeks pregnant (DD came @ 43weeks). i'm not sure if it put me into labor, or if it was the BD or Val's recipe or just time, but i had her a few days later. but some women here swear by it.

PLEASE forgive me I just have to ask this !! What is BD .

I haven't tried it. I had my membrane stripped yesterday, no contractions today but I can say I have been seeing more of my plug come out today. NO bloody show though. Does that mean he still have time to nest?

BD is baby dancing (sex). i never had any "bloody show" when i lost my plug. he'll come when he's good & ready. a friend of mine lost her plug @ 6 mo, so you can't really base when he'll come off that.

Default I used it with my first

I used it about 2 weeks prior to giving birth. My MW suggested I insert 5-6 pills vaginally before bed than lay down so it doesn't drip out. Or, she said I could swallow that many but it would be slower as it has to go through the body differently. I went on to birth a 9lb baby girl with nothing :0)
