I think the mother in law. At least with complete strangers you can tell them off if you feel like it, and don't have to worry. The mil on the other hand... I have this problem with my sister. I have told her nicely a few times to stop, because when she touches my tummy she pushes, and it just isn't comfy. She just laughs it off and keeps doing it... Grr!! Good Luck!

When I was showing with the twins strangers never really bothered me...I guess it's because every time I was out in public I probably looked cranky. I suggest trying that out. haha.
Now - I understand the MIL thing. My FIL is a very touchy person, his whole family is. It's not inappropriate touching but he likes to put his arm around you and rub your shoulder and put his hand on your knee if your sitting next to him...things like that. I on the other hand am not a touchy person and have never liked that. I told him many many times nicely, and I went as far as to say that I would like for him to respect my personal space and not touch me unless he asked my permission. After 2 years of dealing with it nicely (my dh and I were still just dating) I finally blew up and let him have it. I told him that I was completely frustrated at his lack of respect and would like him to stop touching me period. He replied that if I didn't like it that I should just get out of his house and I did. I grabbed my coat and keys and left. Since then he hasn't touched me unless I welcome it by approaching him with a hug first. Moral to this story: Sometimes you have to be mean to get the point across even if it makes things uncomfortable for a while. If you are truly adament about her not touching your belly then do what you need to do to stand up for yourself. You are setting a trend if you continue to let her do as she pleases despite your wishes.

Tell her, try " Ï'm feeling really touchy at the moment and I really don't like being touched, so please stop"if that doesn't work tell her if she doesn't stop , everytime she touches your belly , you'll punch her in the eye, good luck, I HATE being touched , butlike Val I look cranky alot

I really hated when people touched my belly it was so annoying, it's like if i wasn't pregnant you wouldn't be touching my stomach so why touch it now, Just be blunt if you don't like it then you don't like it. tell them don't touch you and if you have to be rude be rude.
