Default Ever written a book?

Has anyone ever written a book? I have been thinking about it for a while, but I feel so lame! How many times have you heard someone say, "I'm gonna write a book about!" LoL! Ok, so I probably won't write one, but it's always been a thought of mine. I don't even know where to begin. But I'm curious to know if anyone else has ever thought about it, or has actually written one?

I have never written a book before but have always thought if I ever did write one it would be about myself and my closest friends and some of the experiences we have had growing up from teenagers into adults.

There was an article in the Reader's Digest a couple months ago about writing a memoir and I was going to start, but then I realized I've done quite a few embarrassing things and I wouldn't necessarily want everyone reading about them - although it may be quite entertaining - ha ha.

My sister wrote a few children's books when she was in school for Early Childhood Education - but they were never published or anything. They were a project for class and her teacher loved them.

I don't consider myself very creative so writing is not up my alley

There is a whole section at mothering.com for moms who write/aspire to write. I have found toms of useful info and links there.

I've wrote two romance novels. One was a historical and the other a paranormal. I've never tried to have them published. I did them for myself as an outlet. The only people that have seen them are my mother & a friend.

You ladies are fun! I'm glad to see that a few others out there have written or thought about writing something! I guess I'm not the only "crazy" one, huh? Recently I had been thinking about writing (but not really "writing") a book about working in the service industry. I say not really 'writing' because I want to do a collection of other peoples' stories of their experiences in the service industy- waiting tables, call centers, etc. I think there are some awesome stories! I was chatting with a friend at work and she was telling me these crazy stories about people calling in (she works in a call center for an insurance company) and her experiences with them. I once came across a website where I read a bunch of stories told by servers who work in restaurants and they were so familiar and so funny! (I work at Olive Garden). Of course, I would write the Foreward and whatnot, but there are some great stories out there that I think need to be told. Now that I think of it, I'm sure there is already a book like that! I should check it out..

I've written a few. That's what I do, when I am not writing for families.com. Mostly they are children's fiction but at the moment I have one with a publisher that is just general fiction, though I would suggest more interesting to women than men. I also have another I am currently writing and one that needs to be submitted to a publisher , when I find to do some revisions on it. Time is the old enemy. All are fiction. I have no interest in writing a memoir or autobiography. If you have an idea, chec out what is out there and then go for it and see how you can make yours different. Good luck!

If you ever do it, let me know!! I was a server for 10 years before I started my photography business and I've got stories to share!! It is like an "underground world" (working in restaurants).
