Okay I went out with this guy in 1999 for about 6 months or so. In that time he gave me his class ring- which I still have 8 years later. The e-mail address I last had for him is no longer active and he has since left the military so I have no clue where to find him. I did find his wife (he got married around the same time I did because we have talked since we split but it's been about 4 years since I last heard from him) on myspace.

My question is this, a class ring is something that is a lasting memory for someone and I want to give it back to him. He doesn't have a myspace (that I have come across yet) Would it be innappropriate for me to send a message to his wife simply stating that I would like to give it back to him? I don't want any further ties because we have both moved on with our lives and we both have kids, but I don't think it's right that I still have his ring when it's his memory, not mine. But I'm afraid she's going to get the wrong idea and get angry with me because I'm an ex gf and she's his wife.... know what I mean? Any ideas on what I should do or what I should say if I do e-mail her would be great and much appreciated.
