How would you handle and/or respond to an almost 20 year old SD when she responds as follows to your comments:
You woke us up at 4:00 this morning when you were in the kitchen. You should not be getting food at that time of the morning. - Response - "Because I can"
I need you to put your dishes directly in the dishwasher not the sink, since I am not your maid - Response - "I just did not feel like it"
Your loan for school is due at the beginning to November - will you have the money. Response - "Not really"
Your car insurance is coming due and you haven't given us any money lately - Response - "That sucks"
You cannot keep the garbage piling up in your bedroom - its a bedroom, not anything else - Response - "It doesn't bother me"
You cannot take boys underage (they are 16/17) in your bedroom (which is downstairs) - Response - "What's the big deal"
I think you get the drift - Her Dad and I try, but she is a tough one - Mom not really in the picture and SD decided to come live with us at the age of 15 to have a better life - Yeah !! and we bought that one hook, line and sinker.
Any suggestions?
