Our family got a Wii recently too. It has been so much playing. I have to reccomend Rayman Raving Rabbids. We have just been loving it. A great games for the whole fam. I think I might have lost a couple pounds with all the action

The Wii is so much more social than other videogame console and the games are much more family oriented. My DH knows all about it and got us a Gamefly account so we can rent games through the mail. Saves us from having to by $60 new games and is a lot cheaper than renting from blockbuster.

I try and read about the games before getting them. At least checking thier ESRB rating. You can set parent controls on gamefly so it won't let you rent certain rated games. I block Mature games, just so I wouldn't accidentally add on.

Wii is great, and has added some good fun to our family nights.

We have a wii as well. My problem having young kids is that I was unsure of what games would be age appropriate, and I found a site called expotv.com where people make videos to review products including video games and with the games, they actually have to show game play, so it is easy to see if it is something I am ok with my kids playing. At the moment, we are on a Carnival Games kick.

I never heard of expotv.com. Thanks for the tip. We had the same problem, but there are more and more resources out there to help us parents!

www.whattheyplay.com has game reviews.

www.gamefly.com has reviews and user ratings right there for every game so we can read so much about them before renting. they also have a category for kids and family games as well as parental controls (as mentioned.) I wouldn't buy games from any place that didn't have resources for parents to make sound buying decision.

we also visit the forum at www.gamerdad.com and ask other parents about games before we rent them.

I hope you find Expotv.com helpful for checking out video reviews for your kids. Just as a side note, they pay you $10 per accepted video as well. So you can even make some money from this site!

My family recently got the Nintendo Wii and it's a blast! We mainly for my younger sister, but deep down inside, the rest of my family wanted it just as bad.

The nice thing too is that you can play Gamecube games on it as well, so you don't have to sell them or have two consoles laying around.
