Question Family History.

Now that more of my family knows that we've been tring and have problems, several story have been told.
My dad's side I've been told of an Aunt that had 3-4 m/c before she was able to get pg with my cousin and 2 more between her kids. Also a few cousins having problems geting pg too.
My mom's side it's not getting pg it's keeping the baby. A few cousins and Great-Aunts who had m/c early & late term, and a few Still births. My grandmother I know had 2 still births.

It just got me wondering if the problem I'm having now could be related with this.... *hmmmm* I know before I got pg with my daughter I had 2 seperate Drs tell me that I couldn't get pg, and one after I had her that it was a fluke and I couldn't have anymore...

All this stuff going threw my mind!! *sigh* I know I'm gonna over think stuff til my appointment, so if I start driving anyone nuts, just let me know.

Wow. But, if you let yourself keep thinking about all of this you will drive yourself crazy. I wish you the best of luck at your appointment.

I saw in one of your other posts it said something about insulin resistance, is that what the doctor thought was causeing problems? Does that prevent pg, or hinder staying pg?

Good luck with your appointment. I hope you get some good info, and some answers.

Wow! Best of luck and I hope they work to find out what might be up! When I had the routine slew of tests they found that I have the MTHFR chromosomal abnormality. I have 2 abnormals (one from my Mom and one from my Dad). I don't process vitamins properly...particularly B12 and Folic Acid and these are key in getting pregnant and STAYING pregnant. There's been evidence of still births, early miscarriage, mid-term miscarriage, etc. with this disorder but it is still very possible to carry a child to term without medication and still have it. I have to take a prescribed folic acid/B12 supplement every day and a prenatal vitamin. After the news of this came about in my family, I found out lots of Great Aunts had trouble and had tons of miscarriages before having several kids. My Mom even had a loss at 21 weeks along. Nobody ever knew what was up. The theory is that I just haven't had a rich enough vitamin supply of folic acid and b12 for an embryo to thrive. I'm not saying this is what you have, but a story to let you know that there are lots of possibilities and many are easy to treat once detected. I hope there is a resolution for whatever your case might be!

Well, I hope you finding this information out can only HELP when you go to your doctors appointment. That way, maybe they will be more open to looking into different diagnosis.

I know you are concerned and worried hun! You could try making a list of everything you want answered, that way you have something to take with you to the office. I am in the process of my list (my appt is May 5th), and it helps me to be sure everything gets answered or at least addressed. Plus, I always tend to forged EVERYTHING once I get to the office.

Good luck girl!

Kasia-- My dr now has me on metformin to correct the insulin problem. I wasn't O'ing and she was hoping that it would correct the problem. So far since I've been on it, I've O'ed normally so I guess it fixed that.

Lindsay-- I'm glad I'm not the only one to walk into the to Dr with a list of questions. DH bought me a few of those mini Composition books a few months ago, and I've been using that to track stuff, and questions. *I'm forgetful too when I get in the office* *lol*
