feeling so fat
Ugh, I just feel so horrible about myself today, I mean so fat and gross.
Let's rewind to 2006 when I went on a serious health kick, and lost nearly 60 lbs, with diet and exercise. I was at my lowest weight and smallest size ever. I felt so good physically, emotionally.
Fast forward to now 8 weeks postpartum, I just want to be that person again.
I am breastfeeding, so I can't do anything drastic......but I have been doing Weight Watchers and I am losing weight......so I should just give myself some credit for that.
But with 3 kids and a part time job (that just got to be more than part time hours) and nursing, I just can't find the time to get back into my workout routine. I can't look at myself in the mirror anymore...it just grosses me out, I cringe when DH touches me cuz I don't want him to 'feel' all of the fat. This morning when he put him arm around me in bed, I just started to cry about it.....then he wants to know why I'm crying.....and I can't tell him cuz he'll just think I'm crazy.
Maybe it's just my hormones, I don't know. Now I'm just rambling, and this is going no where but it feels good to get my thoughts written down.
Thanks for listening to me.

Oh my gosh I absolutely know how you feel!! In the breastfeeding forum I just posted a thread saying how close I was to giving up breastfeeding so I could take Alli- that drastic diet pill-but that I felt so guilty and selfish for even thinking that I should do that! I totally know how you feel, though. I can't stand all this extra fat I have! And it's so hard to get rid of it when we have busy lives with families, part time jobs (I'm also a full time student)... It's so depressing!
I wish I had advice for you, but you seem to be on the right track. I would love to give Weight Watchers a shot, too. Is it really expensive? I can only give you my support, though! And I want you to know that your DH thinks you're beautiful! I know it's hard to believe that sometimes, but he really does!

I knew that at least one person on this forum would understand how I feel.
Weight Watchers is a little pricey, but I guess it's all relative. It's worth the price to me! The cost is $10 per meeting, or you can get a monthly pass for $39 or something (this is what I do) and go to unlimited meetings.
It works, each week I weigh in I've lost another pound or two, and it's a MUCH better option than Alli
Thanks for the support, I guess I really needed it today. I started working on my son's scrapbook to take my mind off of things and I look so much thinner at 16 weeks pregnant than I do now! UGH! So I guess the scrapbooking isn't taking my mind off of anything, !

Yes--and weight watchers adjusts your plan for breastfeeding so that you are still getting the right amount of calories. And it's not known to cause those unfortunate side effects of Alli that we were talking about in the other thread. Seriously--8 weeks is just soon to be losing weight or even worried about it. It's going to take awhile. But I understand how you feel. Just take one day at a time. You can think of breastfeeding as a workout too btw. While you're not toning your muscles you are burning calories. And yes, at 8 weeks, hormones play a big part in life. Sad to say but very true.

Yep, add me to that list!
I, too, was at my thinnest point in life before I got pregnant. At one point in my life, I weighed 240lbs and a size 22/24. With diet and excersize I made it down to 140lbs and a size 8. Then *BOOM*..one week after trying on the size 8 jeans, I was pregnant.
Now, no matter what I do, I cannot drop below a size 12. I've tried everything to get the smaller size jeans on, but my body is just different now after pregnancy, and I have to work alot harder.
Good luck with Weight Watchers!

How is it going?? Any more success this week? I'm really considering Weight Watchers, especially since it can work around breastfeeding! (And it's Val-approved! hehe!) How and where did you being?

ROFL! If you're looking for something "Val approved" I generally approve of anything that openly works around breastfeeding. . .doesn't cut out entire food groups. . .and is sensible. Weight watchers qualifies but there are others out there too. Weight watchers helped my sister in law lose almost 100 pounds.
