Default First PP AF?

When did you get your first PP AF? I know that it could be up to 6 months or later pp if you are breastfeeding, but it sounds like a lot of others started earlier. We're 4 1/2 months PP and having no signs of coming AF. Just curious.

I had one at about 10 weeks pp but I had a coil fitted so it might have induced it. Cause I haven't had one since. I'm now 16 weeks pp.

Anywhere from 13 months to 19 months pp. They say that if you practice 'natural child spacing' via breastfeeding (so you're exclusively nursing w/o the help of anything else) your children should be about 2y apart. So I think that 13-14mos. is 'average'. Although I think you have more milk than the average mama!

Thanks everyone. We're doing mainly doing natural child spacing, but then sometimes I get really scared and we take other precautions. I knew that it was normal to not get AF for many months pp, but it seemed like I was the exception more than the rule. Thanks for sharing!

Just because No PP doesn't mean no eggs no Pregnancy. Just be aware. I got pregnant a second time around without a PP. I lost the baby, but I thought I was safe. That's a reason why there are a lot of "closer" sibs in age.....

If you practice natural child spacing you're probably already aware but I've written a few blogs on this:

The Rules of Natural Child Spacing (read the comments too--I answered lots of questions there)

The Effectiveness of Breastfeeding as Birth Control

And FYI there was recently a study done and they discovered that charting your fertility is as effective as using the pill. I'll have to find the link.

I've read that too, which was very interesting to me since I'm kind of against the idea of hormonal BC (for myself), Thanks for sharing your blog links, I don't think I've read them yet!

Yeah--we don't do the hormonal birth control thing either. Our kids are spaced about two years apart.
