Unhappy Fluid again...very low level!

So I went in yesterday for my appt. and the Dr. checked my cervix. I am not dilated but my cervix is starting to thin out. So that was great news. The bad news is my fluid level is now in the 6's and a 5 is considered a medical emergency. So if my levels are not back up to normal by this Tues. the Dr. said for the babys health she would have to induce me! I would be 35w 2d at that point. I am so worried. I am drinking a ton of fluid so I dont understand why my levels are low. I did increase my intake even more in hopes that it will help. It seems like this baby wants to come early no matter what! I know that after 35 weeks the baby should be ok but there can still be a chance of lung problems, jaundice and low sugar. I just hope everything is ok. On top of that the chance of a C-section is even higher b/c my cervix isn't ready to deliver and the induction would take hours. I am just going to rest and drink a lot. I will keep you all updated.

Don't worry...Aiden was born at 36wks...and he weigh'd 6lbs 3oz....and was perfectly fine...I can understand how scary it is but your babe should be ok...Aiden was jaundiced a bit though and he looked red for a while...the doc said it was because he was born early...and since the hosp would know that Nevaeh was early they would be on stand by...I had a room full of hospital staff waiting for Aiden to make sure he was ok. BTW get some Vit D drops..the kind for babies...it worked wonders for Aiden so his jaundice went away...

Well the good thing is she will make it to 35 weeks. I know you want her to bake a little longer but with them knowing that she is going to be early they will be more than prepared. I hope that your levels go up like they did last time so she can bake a little longer. Good luck and I hope she can stay in a little longer

Thank you everyone! I am so trying to take it easy but I am just so worried. I know that jaundice and the sugar problem are small things and I was prepared for them b/c they can be caused by my GD. The fact that she might come early just increases the chance that she could have both. The thing that is worrying me the most are her lungs. I asked the Dr. about getting a steroid shot and she said after 34 weeks they usually wont give one b/c it doesn't really do much to help. I know that her lungs "should" be ok but I am still worried. I don't want her to be in the NICU. The whole reason I picked this hospital was b/c they are the only level III NICU in Chicago and I know Nevy will be in great hands but I am still freaking out. I think if I make it to 36 weeks I will feel so much better about her coming. I am putting myself on "couch rest" and trying to drink lots of water. I'm drinking about 80+ oz of water a day and definitely paying the price for it in bathroom trips ! I will keep everyone up to date and thanks again for the support!

I went through early labor issues with my last two pregnancies from 33 weeks on. I spoke to several moms who'd had babies at 35ish weeks and all their babies were just fine, good weights, no NICU time... 35 weeks is really great odds and not that many problems usually Try not to stress and try to relax it will be okay *big hugs*
