I am in the market for a food strainer and sauce maker so I can make applesauce. I can't find any reviews on them so figuring out which one to buy has been a little difficult - especially since they're all online and not in stores. Has anyone ever used one? Do you have an opinion on which one I should buy?
For applesauce, I just cut up apples as chunky or fine as I want them. Toss them in a saucepan with some water, cinnamon and sugar and let it simmer until it's done. (Done being an objective term, of course.)
All sauces based on white sauce can be done really easily if you whizz it all up in a food processor then heat gently till it thickens. No lumps that way!
The food strainer the I use is Back to Basics food strainer and suace maker 220. I make tomato sauce every year with it but you can make apple sauce as well with the same attachment.
