Default Friend's baby not mobile...

Hello everyone. I feel like a jerk for even writing this post, but I guess it has become more for my own knowledge.

Anyway, I have a friend whose daughter turned one about two weeks ago, and she is a couple of months younger than my daughter. I hate to compare the two, but my friends daughter, Kate, kind of worries me. She can't sit up by herself for an extended period of time, and still needs the boppy for support. She doesn't stand, even with help. It's almost like she's still 4 or 5 months old. She also doesn't feed herself bits of food that are put in front of her. It really does worry me, but I know it's not my place to say anything.

I know that every baby is different, but this seems like there is something really wrong. My friend doesn't seem to think that there is anything wrong, and just says she is a slow learner, even when I don't say anything in the first place. It's weird.

Has anyone seen anything like this before? When she was pregnant with Kate, one of her doctors told her that they found something wrong with the brain, but she just got angry with the doctor and started seeing someone else. I'm really thinking that maybe the doc was right. So I know it's none of my business, but now I'm curious for my own knowledge as to what is going on.

Any ideas?
