Inspired by this thread here is my Frugal Alphabet...Some I already do regularly, others I need to start doing more of!
A- Advertised Specials
B- Bicycles: ride don’t drive when you can
C- Clip Those Coupons!
D- Double Coupons!
E- Energy Savers: turn down heat/ac, turn off lights, etc., etc., etc.
F- Freebies!
G- Game Nights: much cheaper than going out to movies, and your friends enjoy your company too!
H- Hire yourself out: are you good at something? Why not get paid to do it for others?
I- Invest in Quality: they’ll last longer, and cost you less than replacing a cheap item in a shorter amount of time
J- Just the Essentials: avoid impulse spending on shopping trips by sticking to your list
K- Keep it in perspective: Don’t stockpile something your family will never use/eat just because it’s a great deal
L- Lunch Box: Pack one to avoid dining out
M- Make things yourself!
N- Natural Lighting: open those blinds and let the sun shine in!
O- Organization: knowing what you have & where it is saves you from purchasing items you already have on hand
P- Price Matching: Bring all your ads to one store, most will meet or beat competitor pricing…less gas on driving store to store
Q- Quantity: I buy in bulk & stockpile whenever I can
R- Rebates!
S- Sharing: whether its just tips & knowledge –or- material goods
T- Timing: Know when sales hit rock bottom & when to play those coupons!
U- UnderBed Storage: make use of the space you have with bed-risers (great place to stockpile!)
V-Variety: try new things, new brands, new products….whatever may be on sale
W- Within Your Means: Live there
X- “X-Marks-The-Spot”: map out shopping trips that require multiple stops, a good plan of action keeps things efficient
Y- Yourself: Do it Yourself. You can easily learn basic maintenance and home improvement skills
Z- get your “Zzzzzzz’s”: a solid night’s sleep makes everyday go much better, so rest up for your days of chaos!
