I haven't heard of a women with PCOS having a low egg reserve but I'm sure it can happen. Women in their 40's get pregnant with there own children all the time. I'm sure your chance would be higher i you used a donor but I'm sure you can still use your own eggs.
As for the cost I know how you feel the first time cost us about $15,000 with meds. This last time was about $4,000 and my insurance covered the frozen meds b/c they are cheaper. The first time we used all of our savings and then some. We also joined Medcare which is a very low interest/high limit credit card used only for medical treatments. That may be an option for you. It was hard and it took us until this Jan. to finish paying it all off. We were very lucky that I had a savings account that I didn't know about(grandmother had set one up when I was a child and forgot about it) this time around to use for our second round. It's hard but soooo worth it in the end.
I would also check into your state infertility laws and see what state insurance you can get. We have a middle-lower class insurance though the state called Family care. We use it as a supplement to our regular insurance. Well we just found out that starting next year they will cover infertility. So I would check your state as well b/c you never know. I wish you the best of luck!
