Default Gay Marriage now legal in Iowa

This week an Iowa Judge declared that the law banning gay marriage was unconstitutional.

Here's the link:

Iowa is not Massachussets. It will be interesting to see how this works out there. I think appeals are planned, but meantime, people are applying for marriage licenses.

Thanks for posting this!

Oh wow, I think this is exciting. I hope it works out and same sex marriages become legal! My opinion only of course.

And then he declared a stay on his own ruling less than 24 hours later. Like mcmama said. . .Iowa isn't Massachusetts.

I read that some 27 couples requested licenses, but only one was married before it was stopped.
So, if they are married in Iowa.....what about the surrounding states?
If these married, same sex couples go to a different state, is their marriage legal?

Or only in Iowa?
