Well, I am diabetic, and have been for 19 years, so I guess the routine is probably about the same. You will have to keep a close eye on your blood sugars. It's not good for the baby if they are too high or too low. You will need to learn to eat a more healthy diet, and learn to count carbs. Veggies and some fruits, whole grain breads, peanut butter (just watch the fat content), popcorn are all good food choices. Remember, even if something is "sugar-free" does not mean it is "fat-free" and this can be worse... fat needs to turn into sugar to be broken down by the body, There are some foods with high fat content that make it harder to control your sugars - pizza, pasta, fast food, etc. You may be at a higher risk for a bigger baby, and therefore, a c-section. Feel free to ask any specific questions - I've had 2 healthy kids being a diabetic. And I'm pregnant again!
