Default Getting rid of paper ECB's ????

I was at 1 of my local CVS's and used several ECB's The clerk ringing things up said "I can't wait till these are gone" When I asked him about it he didn't seem to know exactly when or how they were going to do it but the items that now have ECB's were going to deduct that amount from the total and you would get it instantly instead of them printing out and using them like coupons next time.

Has anyone heard if they are going to be changing the format of the ECB program? I can see them going to a reloadable debit card type thing - like Walgreens but what he was saying doesn't make sense...then what do they do with combo mfg. coupons on top of items that you get full amount back in ECB's???

I think they are confused with the new ECB program that starts April 1st. The ECB will print out instantly, not deduct them from the current order. It's already started in a few areas, so I doubt they would start them there only to change the whole system. They probably just heard "instant ECB" and thought instantly deducted instead of instantly printing(as opposed to waiting 2 days).

I agree, they're probably confused. The whole idea behind the ECB program is to get us to come in again, so deducting it instsntly would defeat that.

the instant thing is probably why the wording is now starting to say IN ONE Transaction...it will probably be like when Walgreens has their Buy $15 get a $5 coupon type of thing?

I agree, lipbalmaddict, that's probably why they're SAYING that. But I still don't think it'll be true. I think it just won't print when you start the deal, but will when you finish the deal.

Someone even called in to CS & was told this by corp.
