Default Give me tips against pests...

I have deer, skunk, raccoons, squirrels, chipmunks, two types of moles, field mice, rats, cats, dogs and lots of birds that come to our yard. Anyone else have to deer proof? If so, try this recipe easily made from common home ingredients. After making it, spray on plants that are at risk of being chewed to the nub -- except ones that you plan to pick or if your tree is flowering because it won't set fruit because it also deters pollinators.
Recipe: boil 1or 2 quarts of water, 1/4 c vegetable oil, 1 or 2 eggs, 1 tbl red pepper, garlic, onion, 2 tbl dishwashing soap. Let cool. Spray using a sprayer.

Well, since so many people took a look at this topic, I'll add some more interesting facts. If you have squirrels, forget bulbs unless they are one of these types:
- iris, daffodil, hyacinth, snowbell, lilies.
Squirrels love crocus, tulip (although some of the older native varieties last better), bluebell.
