Default Glacier/Waterton National Park

For those of you looking for a beautiful place to visit, consider Glacier/Waterton National park. It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. It is in Montana right on the US/Canada border. Glacier is what it is called in the US, Waterton in Canada. In the little town in Waterton, the deer are so accustomed to people, (they are protected there) that they just roam the streets and will come up to you. The "Road to the Sun" aka the "Logan Pass" which takes you through the park and crosses the border is so beautiful, I can't put it into words. Even in the summer it is cool, and over the Logan pass, even in the summer there is snow on the ground because the elevation is so high. Majestic mountains, beautiful animals, hiking, camping, little shops, a tour boat that takes you all over Waterton Lake to places that you can't get to unless you hike or take a boat. The last time I went, there was a bear in our driveway at our cabin, and while on the boat there was a bear and 2 cubs walking along the banks. There is a sunken ship in the bay of Waterton lake and if the water is calm enough you can go out on a canoe or a paddle boat and see it, or you can rent scuba gear and go check it out yourself. Lots to do for the whole family and really gives you an appreciation of some of Gods most beautiful creations.

Wow, that sounds like paradise to me. I grew up in Washington state and I miss it so much now that I live in Florida because its just not the same. I especially miss the trees, animals and mountains. Sounds like a great place to take my next vacation! Are cabin rentals very expensive there?

You know the last time I went was for a family reunion about 7 years ago, and the cabin we rented for that was $600 per night but it was essentially a bed and breakfast with 7 bedrooms with a bathroom in all but one room and lots of extra space for just hanging out. They both have a web site with all of that information on it here are the addresses....
www.glacier.national-park.com
www.watertoninfo.ab.ca I hope this helps you out, it is truely one of God's most beautiful creations....did I already say that?

Default Cabins

There are some really adorable cabins at Waterton that are rather inexpensive. When we were there, we rented a two-bedroom cottage with a full kitchen at the Aspen Village Inn and it was only $173 (American). We were there with my husband's parents, his sister and our neice and there was plenty of room for all 6 of us. www.watertoninfo.ab.ca/

I loved Glacier too! But we only stayed for one day. A highlight was seeing big horn sheep and a badger. It was also where we spotted a gray-crowned rosy finch. Although you can see this finch in the area during winter, it goes to the high elevations at Glacier in the summer making it almost the only place to spot it.

I love that! I'll definitely add that to my "to do" list.
