Default Go to Sleep!

How do you get a three year old to sleep? We've tried everything and she won't go to bed. Someone said you may have breathing problems but I don't think that's it! It's starting to get a little annoying.

Any advice.

At night or for a nap? b/c usually around that age they stop taking naps. But if it is at night, do you mean she won't stay in her bed, or just that she can't fall asleep?

She won't go to bed! She stays up until wee hours of the morning. Then she wakes up less then 4 hours later.

my daughter tries to come up with every excuse....drink...potty...etc...i just ignore her...she usually just winds up falling asleep after 10 mins of yelling for anything she can think of...we actually turned the door knob around on her door so we could lock her in her room (shes in a big girl bed so she can climb out whenever) good thing is she doesnt get out of bed after we read her a book...just lays there and yells for us...its hard but maybe try just turning the tv up a little?

hm, that's difficult. I remember my dad struggling with me like that, and now I'm 32 & still don't know when to go to bed. I just don't like to sleep-maybe she's like that too.

Sorry, I'm no help. I know the experts say to have a rigid nighttime routine that is supposed to induce sleepiness...warm bath, book reading, etc.

I don't sleep. I worry about everything. I have a hard time turning my mind off. I've done everything the books say but she still doesn't sleep. Even if by some act of God she does go to bed, she wakes up at 3am and is up. I'm sorry but I'm getting older and staying up all night is not fun.

We are moving in a few months. She will be in her own room. I'm hoping that helps. She's been with us for ever. I'm just frustrated. This morning she was in her bed again. Underneath the covers with daddy!
