Default Good Reason Not to Wash Clothes

You and I can both come up with a dozen
reasons not to do the laundry.
Life gets hectic.

This woman from Maine, USA
has a big reason not to do her laundry.
She discovered an 8 foot snake
in her washer!

Can you imagine!

Once upon a time my mother turned on the bathtub faucet to clean the tub, and out poured hundreds of little green tree frogs.

I was four years old. I had such fun helping mommy clean that day. Opening the windows, tossing those little critters out.

Snakes are fun too.

The problem with this is that pythons are not native to Maine. Nor are they native to Florida, but they have adapted to the wild. This is a pet who was irresponsibly discarded, and who could pose a danger to small animals and infants and toddlers. It could also do quite a bit of damage to an adult.

That happened to my mom about 7 years ago. She opened the lid of her washer and there it was, a snake coming out of the hole where the water comes from. My mom freaked and slammed the lid shut and started the washer on hot in hopes of killing it. Well, we went shopping and came back and saw the snake crawling across the floor and into the coat closet. When it slithered in, I got a towel and stuffed it under the door and put some rocks against it. We called my dad at work and told him to come get it. When he got home, he opened the closet door and at first couldn't find it. He was looking all over the floor of the closet. No snake. Then he looked up and wrapped around the coat sleeve was the snake. He jumped back and knocked it down with a broom and opened the front door and knocked him out of the house. It was a Chicken Snake... very native to Texas. Harmless, but not something I'd want in the house! Just one of those odd happenings!
