I think it has to do with body and head control like Lessly said. But I'm sure they recommend that ur little one be 1 before they face forward for a reason. I know it gets very frustrating, Kaleigh didn't like facing the rear once she was about 9 months old- she was walking already too and her feet would hit the back of the car's seat, so I know she was probly uncomfortable and felt restricted, but the doctor told me she needs to be 20 pounds and one year old.
