Default Got a new car seat...

I have a question. Kaylee is almost 30 inches long and well over 20lbs. But of course I can't put her in the car seat facing the front because she's not one.

Does anyone know the reasons why they say to wait until they're one?

I spent a hour trying to put the stupid car seat in. It's one that will last her until she's 6 years old.

I think if she weight well over 20pnds has good control of her head and body...and is long enough it should be ok....Can you phone the health clinic...they have info that may help you out...we got a new seat for Aiden but he's still doesn't weight 20lbs yet.....

I think it has to do with body and head control like Lessly said. But I'm sure they recommend that ur little one be 1 before they face forward for a reason. I know it gets very frustrating, Kaleigh didn't like facing the rear once she was about 9 months old- she was walking already too and her feet would hit the back of the car's seat, so I know she was probly uncomfortable and felt restricted, but the doctor told me she needs to be 20 pounds and one year old.

the carseat i have says it can be use till 24lbs OR till 1yr. i know 2 girls that have their boys facing forward at 8mons old. but check with your dr. if they have to be 1yr and 20lbs i think aiyana will be looking at the backseat for a very long time lol

Yeah Kaylee has outgrown her infant seat so I just put the new one in backwards. On Thursday I'll ask the doctor whether it's okay to switch her forward or not.Right now it's a little complicated to get her in and out of the seat but once I can face it forward then I can put it in the passenger side and it will be ten times easier.
