well, today i went to my second opinion appointment, and i think it went well. the doctor was very nice and caring. i really really like her and would love to switch completely to her practice if she werent an hour away...she wanted to know my entire history. she sat down and we talked about what is going on currently. she then said "ok, lets start at when you got your first period and tell me your history from there." WOW. there really wasnt much to say since i have a very uneventful history up until the last 2 years with the miscarriages. anyway, this is the plan (currently i am on CD 1):
Tomorrow: Lab work (DHEA-S, FSH, LH, TSH)
May 20: CD13 ultrasound to look at follicles. if there is a nice looking follicle, then a HCG shot to release the egg. if the eggs arent so good looking then we discuss clomid for next cycle.
May 28: CD 21 progesterone level check. she does not want me to take the prometrium this month and see what my body does on its own.
Next cycle: and HSG sometime between CD 6-9. if this shows some abnormalities she said she may want to do an exploratory lap to see what is going on and possibly fix what ever the problem is.
Today DH had a semen analysis done. we will have the results next week.
phew! i feel like something is getting done now. next month makes 2 years of TTC, so hopefully the end of that journey is near. i feel good about the appointment and her plan of care.
