Question green cleaning

I am trying to convert all my cleaning supplies to natural, non toxic cleaners. Has anyone else made this transition? Any suggestions? I have found some very helpful websites that tell you how to make your own solutions. Does anyone do this?

When my customers request non-toxic cleaning, I use alot of vinegar/water (for floors, windows, counters..etc. It's also a natural disinfectant) & baking soda (made into a paste for scrubbing tubs, sinks...etc.)

Thank you, those are things I have been using for years. Do you have a suggestion for replacing Plegde for dusting?

Here's what I do!
Furniture Polish: For varnished wood, add a few drops of lemon oil into a 1/2 cup warm water. Mix well and spray onto a soft cotton cloth. Cloth should only be slightly damp. Wipe furniture with the cloth, and finish by wiping once more using a dry soft cotton cloth.
For unvarnished wood, mix two tsps each of olive oil and lemon juice and apply a small amount to a soft cotton cloth. Wring the cloth to spread the mixture further into the material and apply to the furniture using wide strokes. This helps distribute the oil evenly.

When you use the vinegar and water, how much of each do you use? Are there any surfaces this should NOT be used on?

TIA

I just use a 50/50 dilution....but you can dilute however you want...if the smell is too strong...I haven't found a surface that you can't use it on.

Thats what I use!! IN the potty pour about 1/2 cup of vinegar let set for a bit, then pour about the same amount of baking soda. Let it react, scrub if you want and flush. Works great in sink/drains ONLY if they are not clogged!!!!!! It keeps then from clogging as much. Works in the garbage disposal, then put the plug in as soon as you add the BS. I love the clean smell the vinegar leaves

I have used the olive oil and vinegar mix and love the results. Thank you. On a side a note for clogged drains, a non-toxic solution is a product called Zip It. It is a plastic strip with teeth like sides and grabs gunk out of the drain. We have used it a couple times and love it and it only cost a couple bucks. And I heard vinegar and water is only a disenfectant if it soaks for 30 minutes, any thoughts?

I use nature based products by Shaklee, a 50 year old company. A little drop of the Basic H2 can clean just about anything from dishes to sinks to windows you name it and this one does it all. check it out here shaklee.net/healthywork dot com
